“From coaching, I was able to identify my values. Ellen’s coaching in particular really helped develop my sense of self; it’s become clear what’s important to me through the course of our work together.

With that, I find myself far less anxious about decision-making; I trust myself to listen to what I need and allow myself the permission to attend to it. “

“[Before coaching] I felt like I was in automatic pilot and that I wasn’t able to manage challenges.

The best thing I learned is how to express what I want. I felt like I wasn’t in charge of my own life. And then, with coaching, I had the tools to be in charge, and to manage my emotions, and to learn more about myself.”

Bianca, Nonprofit Fundraiser , USA

“When I started this journey, I was extremely anxious about my career, unsure of myself and what I wanted. Thanks to my partnership with Ellen, I’ve learned how to live out my values, be less of a people pleaser (!), and feeling more calm and steady with the direction I’m heading not just in my career, but also in life. I am so thankful to have had this opportunity and highly recommend this experience to others!”

Marjolein, Grant Team for Academic Research, Netherlands

“I highly recommend Ellen as a coach. When I started coaching with Ellen I was going through a very difficult time in my life. I was dealing with chronic illness, burnout and had lost my job because of that. I was lost at sea and had no clue where to go from there.

Ellen’s patience, empathy and listening skills gave me space to air my concerns without judgment. She helped me understand my workplace values and that I was in charge of my own narrative when it comes to finding a new career after health problems. She guided me through understanding the workplace misalignment that caused me to burn out and what I really needed from a career in the long and short term. She helped me think of jobs I could apply for and also helped with the application process (I used Ellen’s workplace values in my job interviews!).

I now found a job that is a great fit for me, I have some tools to stay balanced, and I’m really thankful for having worked with Ellen.”

Laura, Engineer and Creator, France

“I wanted to have a coach because I was stuck and I did not know how to deal with it. I decided to quit my last job because I was burned out by the working hours, the general environment and also I did not recognize myself in the job itself. I wanted help to find the best solutions and to be able to find my own power.

At first I felt lost, stressed and a bit scared to share personal things with someone I did not know. But these feelings disappeared quickly when I met Ellen. Her personality, her calm, her tolerance, her open-mind helped me to feel comfortable.

Sessions are personalised depending on what you want to do and Ellen adapted to every subject I wanted to focus on. I liked the exercises and Ellen’s questions because they helped me to think differently. Questions were so relevant and pushed me into deep thinking. Between sessions there was a natural brainstorming about things I learned and how I want to get along with these new keys.

Now that coaching is done, I feel empowered and confident about who I am, what I want to do and how I want to live my life now. Especially in my future work environment. Every resource that Ellen gave me sticks with me and I use them when needed. I know better my values and how I imagine my future. Also I accept now that nothing is forever and I evolve every day, every hours. I just do things with my own flow and it is enough.

Most important I came from stuck to confident.

Cori, Data Specialist, USA

“It was a very non-judgmental space.

Career coaching was different than what I expected, but I think it was instrumental in hopefully my future projection of where I want to go with my career.

Post-career coaching I feel a lot more confident about the decisions I’m making and how I’m approaching life going forward and without career coaching I don’t think I would have that same confidence.”

Oonagh, Program Officer, Netherlands

“With Ellen as my career coach, I have been able to see things in my work differently and I have come to many realisations more quickly than if I had continued trying to figure things out on my own. I also made one very specific career-based decision, with Ellen's support. Ellen provided structured mini-assignments each week which were small enough to actually try and they really helped me to take insights from those experiences, rather than just continuing on in my same patterns. Now I can see what I value in my career, what my next steps should be and how I can get there. I recommend a trial session with Ellen, you won't regret it!”

Holly, Volunteer Mobilization Director, USA

“Coaching with Ellen met me with exactly what I was seeking in a coach - a gentle guide who works with your goals to move your progress forward. Ellen worked at the pace I needed in my busy schedule, and was always insightful and supportive through the coaching process.

Thanks to her coaching, I've seen myself bring more awareness to my own values and how they come to play in my work. I've grown in my own coaching skills and strategies with my staff and colleagues. And I've gained confidence in navigating challenging situations and conversations.

Many of Ellen's words of wisdom will stick with me, and the resources she provided me with will continue to impact my ongoing development in my career for months and years to come!”

Kelly, Veterinarian, Netherlands

“I met Ellen through a Mindset Masterclass she recently co-hosted with another coach in Amsterdam. It was a great experience. Ellen was a wonderful workshop facilitator, opening up a safe, comfortable space for the participants to reflect, explore, and share what aspects of their mindsets might be holding them back.

I immediately knew she would be a wonderful couch to work with 1v1. Fortunately, she graciously offered a trial coaching session for all workshop participants which I greatly appreciated (especially having never had such a coaching session before).

Our trial session was just what I was looking for at the moment. She is an open communicator, active listener, reflective sounding board to help you uncover deeper insights into your personal and professional challenges.

I highly recommend Ellen if you’re feeling a bit lost, confused or discouraged with your current state and need a bit of guidance to get back on track to live to your fullest potential.”

Lian, People Operations, USA

“When we started, I was in a very difficult place - very reactive. Now, through time and work, I am so much more present. I can show up to my problems in a way that's intentional and flexible.

I also have a lot more structure for how I process and react to an outward situation or behavior and how I move forward from it in an authentic way.

For me, I know coaching is working because the little habits that I used to have, have shifted. There's so much more comfort and hope towards handling situations, getting through rough patches, that only you can define, only you can say "Oh, I've gotten better at that.

This experience affirmed that as humans we're meant to rely on others. Two brains can be better than one - can share the emotional burden. When you're in connection, in deep trust - it's better.”

Barbara, Editorial Consultant, Netherlands

“Ellen and I had an easy rapport. She is approachable and open as well as an empathetic and authentic listener, therefore able to create a safe space for sharing. She was always available to help where she thought she could make a difference and offered relevant and interesting insights.”

Laura, Director, USA

“I'm lucky to have known Ellen as a colleague before working with her as a coach so I already knew she was awesome to work with. These coaching sessions were above my expectations as she made me so comfortable. I truly felt like I could open up to her and there were no judgments.

She made sense of the puzzle that was jumbled in this working mom's head and after each session, I felt that I had tangible tools that I could try out immediately in my day-to-day work life (and personal life).

We worked on my confidence and anxiety which is not easy to admit or articulate, but she picked me up and encouraged me to use the moments where I had positive outcomes as leverage to get through the tough moments.

We also laughed and celebrated the wins that came along on my journey. Spending this time and money on myself was worth it to grow and find healing. I heart Ellen and I'm so grateful for this role she played in guiding me.”

Jill, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, USA

“For at least 18 months, I had been struggling with work; finding a balance between work and home, terrorizing my supervisors, not doing my best. Two best friends who had struggled through their own career paths, were wonderful sounding boards. One recommended I try "career coaching" with a "job coach"- I thought about it and finally decided it couldn't make things worse.

Right away I clicked with Ellen; she is easy to talk with and engage. It wasn't too long that I trusted her with things I couldn't even talk about in psychotherapy, but coming through a career-lens, it was easier and I was less defensive in hearing how some of my behavioral patterns, choices, and thoughts, weren't doing me an ounce of good in my professional life. I had a clear picture of professional me and it was getting more and more difficult to maintain a happiness at my jobs.

Over the last nine months, I have met with Ellen and worked on assignments, looked at ways to support my journey, and to change some things and believe in myself. At least with me, my self-confidence was not equal to my clear picture of myself, and this process pushed me to realize some things, prioritize myself, and to change choices.

Ellen has the patience of your favorite teacher, the trustworthiness of your favorite therapist, and the knowledge of the best supervisor you could ever hope for all tied into one. It was a most reflective journey (that will continue!) and the resources I was provided, the skills I practiced, and the self-confidence I gained back all through Ellen's process currently leaves me in a really solid place, professionally, which also leads to personal growth.

As it turns out, my career journey actually jumped back on track recently, following a ten year path change, and it feels great. I have found a job and career that I hope checks all the boxes I was able to prioritize with Ellen's support. I highly recommend Ellen for those who need a career check, a professional self-confidence boost, or to break down what isn't working for you in your job and you want to make things better for yourself.

Thank you, Ellen! For your patience and trust in me to find my way back to a career that fits me, and not the other way around.”

Amber, Global Communications Manager, Germany

“I have had the great opportunity to work with Ellen as a colleague and then later on in her capacity as my professional coach. Her approach to coaching was one that put me in the driver's seat and gave me the space to direct where I needed to go, but she was always there to provide fantastic insight, tools, and questions to help guide me. Ellen's international experience and approach was also extremely valuable as I am a professional who works internationally and within a variety of cultural contexts. Working with someone who has that first-hand experience helped me have a fantastic experience.

After each meeting with Ellen I always felt refreshed and excited to tackle the challenges ahead and began to view them as opportunities. The best way I can describe working with Ellen is that she helps you uncover your professional goals and supports you with innovative techniques that help you create a plan to get there. One of Ellen's many strengths is knowing that you are the expert in your own experience and that her skillset will support you in creating the professional life you are aiming for.”

David, Change Management Practitioner, USA

“I recently completed a six-month coaching engagement with Ellen. To the coaching relationship, Ellen brings a potent mix of close and empathic listening, accurate and insightful feedback, and generative questions that probed for more from me and didn’t let me off the hook. At the same time, she employs a structured and intentional process to ensure that goals are set, the path forward is clear, and mutual accountability exists. She kept us on track, yet was flexible when the circumstances warranted it, always reminding me that coaching needs to meet my needs and I am in the driver’s seat.

I sought out a coach to align my vision and values with the value proposition I bring to work I am passionate about. I got this and much more from working with Ellen. I highly recommend her as a coach.”

Dottie, EVP, USA

“Ellen and her coaching services were recommended to me at a time when I was considering a career change. She really embodies the traits of a good coach: active listening, emotional intelligence, open communication, and the ability to be a guide. Through our four months together I was able to identify beliefs and behaviors that weren't serving me and build out new strategies for moving forward.

Coaching isn't something I had considered previously and is different than I expected. It's not about Ellen telling you what to do - but more about her creating space for you to figure out how best to move forward. I highly recommend!”

Phoebe, Founder, France

“I worked will Ellen because I was feeling a little all over the place. Things were going fine—actually, well—in most areas of my life, but I felt a bit directionless and like I didn't have a wider goal or mission I was working towards as a freelancer. Ellen helped me get to the bottom of what I really wanted in work and in life, through a combination of our sessions, useful exercises, and some (optional!) homework that really helped me make progress week on week. I'll be continuing to implement what I learnt long after we finish working together. Thank you Ellen!”

Erika, Translator, Netherlands

“Having been recommended by a few people in Amsterdam, I decided against my skepticism and anxiety to do a trial session with Ellen.
Coaching was not exactly what I expected. In contrast to the name, it’s not about someone blowing the whistle and yelling until you get it right, there are no strict instructions, or harsh words on what you’re doing wrong with your life. Coaching is more about digging deep and tuning into what your authentic self has been trying to tell you for years.

I think we grow up surrounded by so much noise that it’s extremely difficult to hear this voice without external guidance, and that’s where coaching comes in.

I’m not a person that trusts easily, and the idea of sharing personal things to a total stranger is scary. But few seconds into the session I could tell that Ellen was an individual that truly cared and understood how to hold a safe space for others.

During our first session, we focused on addressing roadblocks preventing me from reaching where I wanted to be, I was surprised to learn, much of what was keeping me in limbo was tied to a mindset I didn’t even know I had.

I felt that Ellen saw issues beyond the surface and guided me to do some individualized groundwork with sustainable growth in mind. Although I did face some uncomfortable truth striking questions, I felt safe in knowing that I didn’t have to do anything that brought discomfort.

It’ll take time, and great effort, but my coaching experience with Ellen made me see that there is hope, even for someone like me. I think it really helped me gain a different perspective on how to tackle my problems and just knowing that I can take steps towards improving my life has made a world of difference.

Thank you Ellen!”

Sarah, Visual Designer, USA

“I had the pleasure of working with Ellen while transitioning between graduate school and the workforce. Ellen led our coaching sessions with warmth, compassion, and professionalism. Via our 1:1 sessions, Ellen guided me on a introspective journey, ultimately helping me re-establish a renewed sense of confidence in myself and my ability to excel professionally. I am tremendously grateful for the support that Ellen provided for me during this period of transition and growth and highly recommend her coaching services to anyone seeking personal or professional guidance.”

  • "After just a few coaching sessions, I walked away with a better understanding of what I value and ideas on how to implement those values into my life. These weren't monumental discoveries. For instance, I value time in nature. I realized, however, that I wasn't prioritizing being outside for fear that it wasn't the most "productive" way to spend my time. Coaching helped me rid some of these self-judgements and reframe what it means to live a happy, productive life."

  • “Ellen is a good listener. She uses reflective listening techniques. I felt heard and understood. For example, she created a questionnaire to have my peers to fill out on how they see me as a leader and what are my strengths and areas to improve in. The responses was very helpful and allow me to work on those areas. This is because she heard me and responded to what I communicated to her as well as made suggestions. We were able to develop a rapport, which allowed me to share with her openly and honestly about my challenges and areas I felt like I needed to work on. We developed a plan to work on those areas.”

    Director, Violence Prevention, USA

  • “It was a pleasure working with Ellen. She is an active listener and a present and thoughtful coach. What I appreciated most about Ellen was her ability to ask me questions that helped me bring awareness to questions I have been asking myself for many years. She was genuinely curious about these questions.”

Sr. Learning and Development Leader, USA

  • “During my coaching engagement, I was able to set clear goals for myself that were based on my ultimate professional vision for myself. Ellen was able to help me then break down my goal in smaller steps that I will be able to accomplish in the short term to work towards a long term vision. Ellen also completed a 360 with 6 interviews with my supervisor, colleagues, and direct reports in order to help me gain clarity on what I was doing well and what I needed to improve in order to reach my goals. The process for the 360 and working out the questions that would be used, was very collaborative. I really appreciated that throughout the process, Ellen really listened to what I needed and was adaptive and thoughtful in ensuring that we were able to accomplish it.”

    Manager, Youth Services, USA

  • “I can’t emphasize enough how incredibly important and impactful the coaching sessions were for my learning experiences both in [my Master’s coursework] and in my work life. I appreciated that, while Ellen never went into great detail about her experience, she was able to relate to my time in [graduate school]. She was thoughtfully able to find the connective tissue between the challenges I shared each session, and then between the sessions themselves. This made everything we discussed much stickier. Ellen helped me make sense of and articulate my feelings and experiences, especially when I didn’t know exactly what I meant or how to say it, by summarizing, repeating things back, and sending thoughtful recaps. She so intently listened and helped me unpack and make immense progress on challenges that have hindered me for years.”

  • “[Ellen’s] strength [as a] coach gave me another way to address and to look at things from different viewpoints. Also, [I gained] tools that I can use as a coach to [my own] team.”
